About Angela
My first experiences as a doula came before I even knew what a doula was. Out of necessity, I had the opportunity to help a friend give birth and discovered that I was able to help with the process in a deeply meaningful way. This lead to helping another friend through pregnancy and labor, then another, and another. It was done purely out of love, friendship and the appreciation for being part of such an incredible and life altering experience. I still hadn’t considered that it could be a career path but after helping my mother navigate through dementia and end of life, I realized that my ability to act as a support and guide spanned a wide range from the most joyous moments to challenges and struggles that no one should go through alone. With this realization, it was clear that I had been on the path to becoming a doula, and in fact had been acting as a doula for many years when I decided to take the next steps by completing my doula certification.
More about Angela
Aside from being a doula, I’m a lifelong fine artist and seasoned graphic designer. I began my academic career at Bowling Green State University in Ohio, where I received a merit scholarship and was invited to study abroad at Studio Arts College International (SACI) in Florence, Italy. After completing my BFA, I relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, where I began my study of Graphic Design at the Art Institute of Phoenix. In 2008, I made the big move to Los Angeles, where I currently live with my husband, Eric and all of our amazing pets.
I like to call our home “The Farm”. We have a bunny, a rescue dog, and a sweet kitty who found his way to us and just never left (they tend to do that). I am an avid gardener and I have come to terms with the fact that I have more plants than I know what to do with, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!
Healthy eating is extremely important to me and cooking is a big part of our daily life. I believe very strongly in the idea that food is a healer and have been vegetarian for over 14 years. I have an extreme amount of compassion for all living things and will absolutely go out of my way to even relocate spiders!
A day at the beach? Yes please! Roller skating? Absolutely! Disco dancing? I’m in! Beauty treatments and self care nights with the girls? Whenever I get the chance!

Building a relationship with you and your partner is my top priority during the prenatal stage.
- These visits take place in the comfort of your own home.
- The first prenatal visit occurs around the 32nd week of pregnancy; the second around week 37.
- These visits are designed to dive deep into your desires for your birth, to unpack fears, to demystify anything that may be hindering your confidence.
- The goal is that by the end of these sessions, you will trust in your ability to birth and make the decisions right for you and your baby, and that I as your doula will have a deep understanding on how best to support you.
The goal of these visits is always to enrich our connection, establish trust, and build rapport.

- Making sure to always suggest new positions, movement, breathing and relaxation, my goal is to help facilitate the progress of your labor.

- I will provide reassurance and perspective, along with evidence-based information regarding your current birth options, and ensure that you have all the tools you need to make informed decisions about your care.
As part of your birth team, I bring knowledge about the birth process, pain management solutions, and a calm, nurturing presence to help make your birth a positive experience, tailored to your specific needs.

The postpartum follow-up visit is an opportunity to reflect, assess and identify any needs you may have moving forward.
- This is also the best time for me to gauge how you are feeling, not only physically, but emotionally as well.
- Most clients like to talk about their birth experience. This is the perfect time to ask me questions, get clarifications, relive what it was like to finally hold your baby, and anything else you may want to talk about.
- This is also a great time to talk about any referrals that you may need. I have access to many different practitioners in our area – both medical and holistic.
- If you are experiencing any lingering pain in your body from pregnancy, labor, or birth I can hep direct you on how to best help eleviate these issues.
I love having this last appointment with my birth clients as a way to wrap up care, and move you forward into your postpartum weeks ahead.
